Our MISSION & VISIOn
Mission and Vision of Boundless Possibilities Foundation Inc. (BPFI)
Mission: Building one big family for persons with neuro-developmental disabilities (PNDDs). Our vision is to become a family community where PNDDs are understood, accepted and are given opportunities to be happy, productive, safe and independent throughout their lives. Our core values are teamwork and collaboration, respect and dignity, resilience and perseverance; love and faith.
Our Story
Some call our children “differently-abled”. Or “special children”. Or PWDs. We call them GENTLE GIANTS. They are neuro-diverse adults who have something unique to give. Amidst all the challenges of raising them, our only dream as parents is to see them safe, happy and productive throughout their lives. Our foundation, Boundless Possibilities Foundation (BPF), works to bring us closer to that dream.
Registered in the last quarter of 2019 BPFI started off as a family support group in 2007, as the Diliman chapter of Autism Society Phil; it moved on to become a multi-purpose cooperative in 2017 as the KASPI-MPC (Kaakibat ng may autismo sa Pilipinas multi-purpose Cooperative).
OUR BACKGROUND
The founders are parents with children with neuro-developmental disabilities. The parents are faced with a dilemma of what will happen to their kids when they are gone in the long term; but now are faced with the lack of activities to give their adult children who have aged out of school. The Foundation therefore hopes to provide transitional activities for adult PNDD’s and empower them to become confident, productive, independent and happy.
Transitional activities can be entrepreneurial where they can taught skills to engage in business or job-coaching assistance for those that can be employed. The foundation aims to continue giving continuous skill development activities throughout the adult life of PNDs. The long-term objective is to be able to establish a community-based residential home where they are given support when their parents are gone.
Today it gives activities to the Gentle Giants in a program called SSAAMEE which stands for Spirituality, Sports, Arts, Advocacy, Music, Employment and Entrepreneurship. The program creates opportunities that allow our Gentle Giants to learn and enhance skills leading to productivity.
We hold art lessons weekly. The output we turn into ART Collab. This is all the art works of the Gentle Giants put together which we turn into Gentle Giants’ merchandise, such as tote bag, shirts, placemats and mugs. Some of our works have been used by a Singaporean company for their inclusive fashion.
We hold baking lessons and we sell cakes, cookies, pastries. People can buy them through our Facebook page!
We also print shirts, eco bags and mugs (PRINTWORKS) for all-occasion gifts.
We have SATURDAY sports. These are different exercise activities every Saturday held in UP Diliman campus to promote not only socialization but also healthy lifestyle. These activities are fitness exercises, Zumba, running facilitated by different coaches every Saturday. We have collaboration with UP Diliman College of Human Kineticsaas well.
We had two PWDe Runs already one was last May 2019 and June 2023.
We hold weekly bible classes every Friday night, and we also serve in special PWD masses as readers, altar servers, collectors and choir members every 3rd Saturday of the month at the St Benedict Parish in Quezon City.
We also have yearly carolings and lately virtual Musicals (bec of covid) because our Gentle Giants (GGs) love to sing and dance. See videos in our FB page.
For our Employment and Entrepreneurship program, we started with training our GGs to be job ready with an 8week module to prepare them for a work environment. The AM I JOB-READY? Module is held once a week for 2months and teaches our GGs the basics of personal hygiene, time management, job application and resume preparation. We hope to further train to skills that will match what partner companies need.
Boundless Possibilities Foundation hopes to create boundless opportunities for Gentle Giants to thrive by giving them more opportunities to learn and grow so they become the Very Special Persons they were meant to be.
